How To Get There

It’s only little over an hour drive to Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania from North New Jersey. They call Bushkill Falls as “Niagara of Pennsylvania”. I visited there after few days of heavy rain so to me it was wild and very much active active and scenic. There are total of 8 falls, up from the Pocono mountains the water begins their descent toward the Delaware River far below and they move faster toward Bushkill Falls.

About The Waterfalls

The main waterfall is a breathtaking sight, plunging 100 feet from a towering cliff. Admission is $12.50. With good planning and favorable weather, a full day here is well worth it. There are four trails to suit different abilities and interests. I chose the popular Yellow Trail, usually taking an hour, but if you stop for photos, it can extend to over 3 hours. For hikers, it’s a dream spot, and don’t miss the Red Trail. Sturdy shoes and water bottles are a must for navigating wooden stairs and paths, descending to the base of the main waterfall and ascending again.
